About me

Hey there! I’m a software engineer based in Château-Thierry, France.

I taught myself functional programming circa 2015. My first inspiration was the Lisp family of languages, Common Lisp in particular. Having explored Lisp, I switched to Haskell, which looked altogether more different and mysterious. In those early days I worked intensely and produced a lot of open source software. My enthusiasm soon paid off: in 2016 I started my career as a software engineer, and my very first paid job was to write Haskell—a good deal for sure! As I gained knowledge and experience, I authored a number of open source projects, blog posts, and tutorials.

In early 2018 I joined Tweag and soon moved to France. My years there were formative: I spent eight years at the company before resigning in July 2026. At Tweag I met many exceptional professionals, crème de la crème in their fields, and I hope that exposure rubbed off on me and helped me grow in my craft. The company made me a much more well-rounded engineer. Besides Haskell, I wrote a little OCaml professionally, then dove into Nix and Bazel. My last four years were predominantly dedicated to Bazel work: I oversaw large migrations and non-trivial integrations for a variety of clients, including international giants. From February to July 2026 I led Tweag’s Scalable Builds department.
